How do I lose weight fast?
Share
Every day, Google gets hundreds of searches, all focused on fast weight loss, with an emphasis on speed. “How do I lose weight fast?” “I want to lose 5kg’s in 2 weeks” “How to lose 10kg’s in a month”. It’s completely understandable, we all want to make changes fast, and body image will always be something that people care about, no matter the latest trend.
In reality, we have a much more interesting answer to the question, ‘how to lose weight and keep it off’. We believe the answer is education. Learning how the body operates is one of the most interesting things you can learn about. Finding out why your body is storing additional layers of fat helps you understand the ‘why’, which can lead you to better appreciate your body, and how it works.
Thousands of years ago, when the world was a much less resourced place, our bodies learned how to store fat. In survival mode, the body prioritises the storage of fat as a source of energy for future use because it is a concentrated form of energy, and the body wants to ensure a reserve for times of scarcity. This is a perfectly useful function, especially when hunter-gatherers had to travel for months before finding sources of food.
Today, there is no real need to reserve additional stores of fat. We can simply climb into our car, drive to the store and get a snack whenever we are hungry. However, survival mode is still a mode we return to, and despite our overabundance of food and convenience, we still get the cues from our brain to store fat when stressed, under pressure, or anxious.
So in a way, we need to manage our brain’s primitive tendencies and remind it that we are no longer living in survival mode.
Losing weight quickly is not always recommended, as it can be associated with various health risks and may not lead to sustainable results. However, if you're looking to start a weight loss journey, it's important to approach it in a healthy and sustainable way.
Here are some general tips -
Before starting any weight loss plan, consult a healthcare professional or nutritionist. Many recent studies have shown a correlation between good gut health and a lean figure, suggesting that if you are looking to lose weight, one place to look is the gut, which, with sustained attention, can be transformed.
Weight loss typically occurs when you burn more calories than you consume. Weight Balance includes a very low calorie fibre which keeps you fuller for longer. This means that you can get on with your day, and spend less time eating, and more time staying active, which creates the right environment for sustained fat loss.
Discover Weight Balance
You need to find the correct balance too. If you cut your calories far too low, you’ll likely feel completely out of sorts. This isn’t sustainable, and will probably lead to binge eating, which takes you back to square one. Instead, find a healthy and balanced diet you actually like eating, and incorporate some movement and exercise. To help you with that extra push, incorporate Weight Balance which balances your gut microbiome while giving you that satiated feeling, so you can get on with your day and spend more time in a slight caloric deficit. Remember, never over the top, always in way that works for you and in a way that you can sustain.
Staying hydrated also helps, as well as getting enough sleep, managing stress, and tracking your progress. Remember, everyone's body is different, and what works for one person may not work for another. It's essential to focus on long-term lifestyle changes rather than quick fixes for lasting results. If you have any underlying health conditions or concerns, it's crucial to seek guidance from a healthcare professional.
